Ryogo Narita’s novel Fate/strange Fake will be adapted into a TV anime. It will be titled Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- and will be broadcast during the Fate Project New Year’s Eve TV Special on December 31.
Fate/strange Fake is a novel by Ryogo Narita, known for his BACCANO! series. It depicts a new battle over the Holy Grail in the U.S., with numerous sorcerers and heroic spirits fighting to the death. Production will be handled by A-1 Pictures, which produced Fate/Apocrypha in 2017. Shun Enokido and Takahito Sakazume, who directed the animation commercials for the Fate/Grand Order app game and the Animation Commercial for the novel, will direct.
The cast includes Kana Hanazawa as Ayaka Sajo, Tomoki Ono as Saber, Tomokazu Seki as Archer, and Yu Kobayashi as Lancer. In addition, a teaser visual by character designer Yusei Yamada and a teaser PV with music by Hiroyuki Sawano were also released. It was also revealed that an English dubbed version will be produced simultaneously with the Japanese version.
Comments from the author, director, and cast
Ryogo Narita Comment
Following the commercial video of a few years ago, this time they are producing a special animation based on my novel. I feel surprised and destined, and at the same time I am grateful to all of you for your support. I hope you will enjoy watching it on TV or in front of the internet to see how Whispers of Dawn, a piece of the Holy Grail War full of falsehoods, will turn out to be a Fake!
Shun Enokido (Director) commet
My name is Enokido, and I am the animation director.
In this work, Fate/strange Fake, concepts that span not only previous Fate works but also TYPE-MOON works are flying around.
The heroes and masters in this game are irregular after irregular.
The level of difficulty in adapting it into an anime may be a little high. This will not be a simple task.
So two directors were summoned as well.
You never know what will happen in the Holy Grail War.
We hope you will enjoy this raging entertainment with us.
Takahito Sakazume (Director) Comment
My name is Sakazume, and I am the animation director. Fate/strange Fake is a new world of TYPE-MOON that goes beyond the framework of Fate.
I feel that the two-director structure has meaning, just as the story’s opposing meanings of true/false.
We are pouring our hearts and minds into this title, with the help of our animation techniques and creative sensibilities, to bring you an original experience that you have never seen before, under the direction of the entire section staff. Please take a look if you would like to see it.
Kana Hanazawa (Ayaka Sajo) comment
I feel so happy to see Ayaka like this again! I was looking forward to the recording of the anime while reading the original story and the comic book by Narita-sensei, whom I have been indebted to for a long time.
Don’t miss out on seeing what parts of “The Holy Grail War full of Falsehood” have been made into a movie!
Tomoki Ono (Saber) Comment
At last! strange Fake is going to be made into an anime! I had a chance to watch the video during the recording of the anime, and I was quite excited.
I also participated as Saber, but where will she appear in the anime? Please look forward to it!
Anjali Kunapaneni ( Ayaka Sajo) comments
I am so, so honored and thrilled to be the English voice of Ayaka in Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn-, and can’t wait for fans to see what we have in store for them!
Ben Balmaceda (Saber) comments
I’m incredibly excited to be playing Saber in Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn-! To all the viewers tuning in, thank you, and I’ll do my best to make you proud!
